After months of writing, conversations and searching for documents, the account of the Kępiński family and Huta Głodowska is complete.
Today, 19 January 2022 in Wielgie, I wrote the last sentence. The book about the everyday life of our family in the history of Huta Głodowska is finished.
It began with notarial deed no. 277 of 16 January 1922 — a sheet of paper recording the purchase of a farm for three million one hundred and fifty thousand marks. A hundred years later we have the whole story: of America, of the war, of work in the fields, of Lenten lamentations by a paraffin lamp, and of how electricity came to the village in 1963.
I wrote it above all for my grandchildren. So that they know where they come from.
