The carriage and the horses

The pre-war carriage with seats upholstered in burgundy velour, the same one in which Tekla and Jan rode to their wedding in 1948 — before and after restoration — together with the black horses in gleaming harness and the leather aprons that shielded the knees. (Photos 6–10, 186, 210)
